Is Tongue Speaking the Ticket to Heaven?

Is Tongue Speaking the Ticket to Heaven?

August 23, 2010 • By John Sun

Many years ago, when I visited a church, three of its deacons asked me whether I could do tongue speaking.  My answer to them was: “Yes, I could start to pray in tongue freely since I was 14.”

The following is an e-mail reply today to a frequent visitor of our web site concerning the “Need” and “Importance” about tongue speaking:

1)  Tongue speaking is the least gift given by the Holy Spirit (see 1 Corinthians 12:28-31).

2)  The person speaks in tongue does not mean he himself or she herself knows what he/she was praying, singing or talking about as the Holy Spirit took over the praying, singing and/or any other actions of that particular person.

3)  Some of the tongue speaking can be translated into plain language, some can’t.  Only in a very rare occasion that a translator can conduct the translation through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

4)  Tongue speaking is a way the Holy Spirit inspires in that particular person, not others.  It is in fact a direct ‘relationship’ or an ‘action’ between the Holy Spirit and that person.  God does give man the Holy Spirit freely as He promised in Revelation 21:6 (also see John 4:10, 4:13-14, 7:38-39).

5)  Tongue speaking is NOT a qualification to enter into the Kingdom of God or heaven (see 1 Corinthians 13:1).  In the last day, many people who had never been able to speak in tongue entered into heaven; and many who frequently spoke in tongue were kept out of the door to heaven, or the New Jerusalem.  The decisive issue is what Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-23, one must OBEY the father in heaven (as a qualification), not his/her experiences with God or the Holy Spirit.  If a person failed to endure to the end, he/she cannot be saved (Revelation 2:10, Matthew 10:22).

6)  If a person insists that tongue speaking is the only way to communicate with God, he/she is in the trap of Satan or the Devil.  Pray for him/her as he/she is in danger to be used by Satan, the Devil or the Evil Spirit.

7)  In fact, tongue speaking is not difficult if we submit ourselves COMPLETELY to God without any reservation.

Do repent – as Repentance is the key to receive salvation.  Repentance is the first topic Jesus preached in Matthew 4:17.  It is also the Main Topic in the important instructions the Resurrected Jesus gave to John to pass onto the people in various churches (Revelation 2 and 3).

Confess ALL our sins to God directly in prayer and ask God’s forgiveness of ALL sins by the use of the Blood of Jesus who sacrificed (his human life) for our sins (see Isaiah 53, Jeremiah 31:31-34, Luke 22:19-20 and created the New Covenant).

Do invite the Holy Spirit into our heart.

Read and to memorize God’s Words as the Bread of Life (Matthew 4:4, John 6:48-51).
