Which Denomination and Which Church Should I Choose?

The Questions raised by one web site visitor about Salvation and Eternal Life as well as Denominations and Church

Question

What denomination you are?  The reason being is because some websites are from false teachers/denominations and I am curious as to who you are and your beliefs.

Answer

God Today Ministries was established based on God’s direct instructions in the same way as Jesus picked up His disciples in or about AD30. Its belief is entirely built from the Words of God as a foundation.  No denomination or any human doctrine applied, its directions have been guided directly by the Holy Spirit and God Himself just as the disciples of Jesus were guided by the Words of God – Jesus Himself.

Question

What do you believe regarding salvation? After reading The Bible, I would have no choice but to say that nothing on our part can earn salvation. One sin equals eternity in Lake of Fire. So, we can only obtain it through realizing we are a sinner, deserve hell, and put our trust in Christ as Lord and Saviour.

Answer

Your statement is correct that God came down from heaven and became a man (John 6:38), defeated Satan or the Devil as a man (Matthew 4:1-10) and offered Himself as One Time Priest who used His own blood to wash away the sins of man (Isaiah 53) thus to provide the Way (John 14:6) so that man may follow Him to Eternal Life (John 6:37-40).

However, just believe in Jesus is definitely NOT ENOUGH.  The Devil believes in Jesus too (see Luke 8:28).  The most important issue is whether one OBEYS the Father in Heaven or not (Matthew 7:21-23).

If anyone who tells others that once a person has been born again, he/she definitely can go to heaven, then, this statement is incorrect.  Perhaps those preachers said so to please their audience and tried to attract more innocent people to join their church or organization.

In the case of the Book of Revelation, the Resurrected Jesus instructed John to write seven letters to seven different churches (In Different Locations but not Different Denominations).  Out of those seven letters, six letters reminded the church members to Repent again.  If merely being Born Again is sufficient to have Eternal Life or going to heaven, Jesus would not instruct John to warn the six churches members to Repent again as most, if not all of the church members had already been born again.  Being born again, one can only see the Kingdom of God (John 3:3).  A person cannot enter into the Kingdom of God without being born of the Water and the Spirit (John 3:5).

True believers of Jesus should read, understand and remember the Words spoken by Jesus, not to be influenced by any useless human doctrines or arguments derived from human wisdom.  In reality, Jesus is the Words of God (John 1:1-3 and Revelation 19:13).  Matthew stated clearly what Jesus said in Matthew 5:29-30, and please pay particular attention to Jesus’ statement in Matthew 7:13-14.

As the Words Jesus had spoken are the Spirit and the Life (John 6:63), let all true believers of Jesus always keep His Words as the highest priority inside our hearts (1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20).

Question

It is to my understanding that the churches in the early chapters of Revelations were worshipping idols, practicing sexual immorality (flashback to 1st Corinthians), and overall sinful living.  Don’t get me wrong but you are not in the category of Catholic or Eastern Orthodox where it is good works and wait and see whether we end up in Paradise or not? Correct. That is some of the doctrine of a lot of “Christian” groups.

Answer

If you read Matthew 7:13-14, Jesus explained very clearly that man MUST PERFORM WELL in order to enter into the Kingdom of God.  (also see Luke 13:22-24 and Matthew 10:22)

Also see what Jesus said in Matthew 15:13-14.

Yes.  Every man or woman has two types of sins.  The First Sin was inherited from Adam and Eve when they failed to obey God completely.  The Second Sin is being committed by every person himself/herself.  As we are all living in this sinful world, one can hardly be sinless based on his/her own performances.  That is the reason why man need Jesus’ blood to wash his/her sins away.  Sins can only be removed when a person repent for what sin he/she had committed and try his/her best to stay away from sin.  It is very common to see in the Bible that God forgives sinners in a more generous way than man can forgive another man according to the law (samples:  one woman caught while conducting adultery, one of the two convicts crucified besides Jesus and many other cases while Jesus healed the sick).

Salvation was given free to every one.  But, every one must choose!  Only those who endure to the end will be saved as per Matthew 10:22, 24:13, Revelation 2:10 and 2:26.
